Two competitions have been held recently. The first was during the spring holidays. For the two weeks of the holidays a guinea pig, 2 budgies and a siamese fighting fish were living at the library. These had been borrowed from the Chinchilla Pet Shop. The competition was to name the guinea pig. Winners received a chocolate.

Winning names were:

• Name with the most votes- Rupert
• Name that sounds the best- Gilbert the Guinea Pig
• Name that made us laugh the most- McTasty
• Most apt- Chomper
• Most clever- Papua New Guinea.

The other competition was to see Shane Webke in Toowoomba as he publicized his new book "Warhorse". People were asked to write down the name of the best book they have read and why they liked it for a chance to win a two-person pass to this author event.

The winner of this was Hayden Benden.
