Christmas Opening Hours
A reminder that the library will be CLOSED over Christmas.
The last day we are open is Saturday 22nd Dec (9am-1pm; 2-6)
We will not reopen until Wednesday 2nd Jan. (9am-12noon; 1pm-6)
Feel free to take a few extra books if you think you will need them to tide you over the break.
You can still return items using our after hours chute located on the left of the front door.

Holiday Crafts
Just a reminder that the library will be having kids craft sessions during the school holidays. For the week before Christmas, we will be reading stories, and making cards, stars, tree ornaments, fridge magnets and photo frames. Children of primary school age are welcome to join us.
The crafts will be held every afternoon at 3.30pm 17-21 Dec.
Please book ahead.

New Exchange!!
We've got new books coming!!
As regular library users may have noticed, every couple of months the Chinchilla library swaps a number of books with the State Library in Brisbane*. So a couple of weeks ago we picked a couple of hundred old/boring etc. books off the shelves here and sent them away. Then one of the staff spent half of last week in Brisbane choosing some new ones to be sent out here. Now (within the next few days) we'll get 25-odd boxes of new books that we will have to go through and will then put on the shelf.
So for all those people who have felt like they're running out of interesting books to read, don't worry. We'll make sure theres a whole bunch of new ones out for you to take over Christmas. Feel free to take a few extras if you think you'll need them over the Christmas break.
